Icy roads today seemed like the perfect excuse for me to stay home today and catch up on lots of things that I’ve been putting off.  One of those tasks was closing down my TAC blog.  Deleting my posts about the monthly specials was not difficult.  However, I had a harder time when it came to the projects I had created with TAC products.  It just seemed a shame to delete those posts, but at the same time, it is time to for the TAC blog to go.  Even though some of the projects feature card designs and other techniques I have already posted here, I decided I would modify and move the postings here so that they could still be enjoyed. 

Over the next several posts, you’ll see why I was so in love with TAC projects and also why I couldn’t just delete my old blog!

For today, just look at what beautiful cards can be created with coordinating papers.  I love the trifold shutter card design and the bright colors bring a smile to my face on this cold icy January day.

2011 was a busy year full of distractions that kept me from so many of the things I enjoy.  My plan for this new year is to schedule time for me and all those fun things that got placed on the back burner. 

Just before Christmas, a box of treasures came to me.  My husband’s mom is downsizing and some months ago I had told her that if she had any crafty things or sewing notions that she no longer wanted to keep, I would be happy to make sure they were put to good use.  She has been a collector for quite some time and active as a reseller of vintage jewelry (among other things) on eBay.

Here’s just a glimpse of what she sent to me!  To many people, it might look like just a bunch of broken jewelry pieces, but I am thrilled!  You can guess what my first project will be.  I cannot wait to sort through it all!  I feel like I’m a little girl again — my aunt and my grandma used to let me sort through and rearrange their jewelry boxes whenever I would go to visit. 

Oh the projects that these treasures will inspire!  Here’s to 2012 and creating joy!

This past Monday was one of those times.  Monday was our annual Ink Or Dye Christmas party.  The Christmas party is always a break from our regular routine.  We meet for dinner at a special restaurant and instead of swapping cards and ATCs, we swap Christmas tags.

The inspiration for my tag came from the Christmas carol, “Silent Night”.

In case you are wondering, these won’t be on my packages.  They are going into my treasure box so that I can admire them over and over again!

Well, it’s been a long time coming, but I finally made myself one!  Actually, it was a joint effort.  Hubby helped out me out by doing the wood burning and spraying the completed plaque with sealant. 

I just love it!  The witch is from one of my favorite fall stamps.  She’s done with colored pencils and gamsol.  I made her blonde just like me!

Halloween is over, but I hate to put it away.

Besides, just ask my kids…  They’ll tell you…  Yes indeed, you’ve been warned…  The witch is STILL in!

Today’s episode featured “green” projects — they were recycling all sorts of boxes and containers.  Some really cute projects!  I can’t wait to explore this show further.  They have a very extensive website of projects at www.spottedcanary.com.
