Virtual Scrapbooking – February & March 2021

February was the month of COVID at our house. My husband was the one who first came home with symptoms. We successfully isolated him from the rest of the family. His schedule was such that we hadn’t been together in days, so I thought I was safe and was actually looking forward to an unplanned vacation as I had to quarantine too. Oh the fun projects I would have the freedom on which to work!

Three days later I developed symptoms and my husband’s COVID test came back positive. My doctor determined I had it too. My ambition was non-existent. I’d so looked forward to the February scrapbook event. I still tried, but only completed one of the challenges and one bonus page.

Challenge #2

I love the circles in this layout. Under the influence of COVID, this took me hours to put together. You can tell from the background of this photo how tired I was. as I just photographed in on my work table. I was still pleased with how it turned out.

Bonus Page

I had a few more photos that didn’t fit in the previous layout that I wanted to feature.  No embellishments on this paper, it was already one of those pre-designed backgrounds.  I love those, but then I find when I go to use one, I am reluctant to cover up the design.  This one wasn’t so difficult as there was plenty of “empty” background.  It worked well for me when my creative energy had waned.

On to March! I had a lot to catch up on when I returned to work, so I got a slow start on the March challenges.
I still managed to get four of them completed and as a result, I have almost all of the pages from my son’s senior year completed.

Challenge #3

I created two of these layouts. One as pictured and the other flipped. I used a checkered ribbon for the border in similar colors as my son’s “dress shirt”. I made him go to the awards ceremony, but I couldn’t make him dress up!

Challenge #4

Instead of two vertical photos and one horizontal photo, I had the reverse. I had two horizontal photos and one vertical photo. Rather than rotating the entire layout, this time I only rotate the photo portion.

Challenge #5

I had originally planned to do this layout exactly as shown. However, the photos I had were not sized large enough to make it look right, so I doubled them up.

Challenge #6

They saved the best for last. This was my favorite layout of the event! My son’s blue hair was the inspiration for the background paper and I selected other colors that would pop. I had so much fun putting this together.
